“Believe in your infinite potential.
Your only limitations are those you set upon yourself.”
Roy T. Bennett
A man set out to do the impossible,
Build a massive cathedral spread over 24,000 sq feet using recycled/donated material.
This is a true story of Justo Gallego Martínez (Don Justo).
Born on Sep 20 1925 in Spain, Don Justo witnessed the Spanish Civil War as a child and went on to become a monk at a young age of 27 in a Trappist monastery. He left the monastery in 1961 after he contracted tuberculosis and started on his mission of building the cathedral since Oct 1961.
He is creating this massive structure in honour of Our Lady of the Pillar, to whom he prayed while suffering from tuberculosis at a young age (while in monastry).
He set out to do the impossible without any formal training or architectural knowledge.
He raised money for his dream project by selling and renting some of his farmland and also got some private donations from supporters and visitors.
The 91 year old man, wakes up at 3:30 am everyday to work on his inspiration, that he sees as a service to the almighty.
“Follow your dreams, believe in yourself and don’t give up”
